Child care centre Kinderrijk

The project concerns the demolition of an existing nursery and shelter, and the construction of a new nursery with bicycle storage and outdoor facilities.
The assignment was subsidized by VIPA and thus put out to public tender. The dossier was a total assignment: architecture, stability, techniques, infrastructure and safety coordination.

The design was conceived in two levels.
On the ground floor, four living zones were planted with a central indoor play area with an annex distribution kitchen. On the street side there is a longitudinal zone with changing and stacking space for carrier boxes, and with spaces for supporting functions such as offices, toilets.
The same plan recurs on the first floor: there are four living zones with dressing and stacking areas on the corridor side, and spaces for support functions.  Above the play area there is a reception area and also the changing room for the staff.
